Loved this session from March.
1 Year old ADORABLE little boy. 3 legged dog, plus such a sweet mom and dad.

Usually it’s the 18 month – 2 year old sessions that I’m playing “photo safari” with and just trying to catch them, but I was covered with a few choice toys mom and dad brought.

Its touching to go back and look at the pictures and relive the joy this family shares and amusing to think of us all trying to keep up with little D!

I almost forgot to mention their dog! I LOVE photographing pets and the kids together, but it can definitely complicate things, but, oh my goodness, I NEED to add that Murray their 3 legged dog, was the PERFECT model and definitely more behaved than my black lab or akita mix!!!

I have photographed the L’s since their oldest daughter was in mama’s belly. I love them. We get each other. They are content to play and have me document it, which is my favorite type of session.

I do a bit, but wonder if its that way for all of my friends and clients that have just added a new chapter in their lives.
Do you remember how the tops of their head smells, or how exciting it is when a newborn seems to notice you. Especially, when it’s your own. When baby, can just smell that mommy is close by. I love newborns (even though they can be long and warm sessions) because they remind me of that time!
Sometimes I think we forget what an incredible gift we are able to create and hopefully we can give some of that love back to them. Little A was such a great sport, I dont even think any of us had to change our clothes (which is a rarity). We ended the session, with my favorite picture of her stretching and getting ready for bed.
Watching her stretch with such gusto reminds me the importance of slowing down and taking a deep breath and enjoying all of these moments before they are gone!

Even though I have my own. Toddler multiples can be a photographers nightmare. If you are around toddlers, you know they run much better than they listen. I decided this was not a session to “wing it”. I brought things for them to do. Mom and I talked about clothing and their interests (even though I’ve photographed them since they were born, the little ones change so much year to year). Our session was scheduled on a very hot weekend day (in Seattle you know that means any of the parks will be packed. Luckily, mom and I chose well. The location gave them ample room to play. We picked an area that wasn’t busy. The girls were ADORABLE and it all came together. I hope you enjoy the glimpse into their childhood as much as I did creating it!!

composite3_0 ]]> http://littlemonkeyphotography.com/blog/?feed=rss2&p=831 11 Lil H’s 2nd Birthday…party!!! http://littlemonkeyphotography.com/blog/?p=817 http://littlemonkeyphotography.com/blog/?p=817#comments Wed, 08 Sep 2010 17:24:23 +0000 leya http://littlemonkeyphotography.com/blog/?p=817  I rarely do events, but I LOVE this family.  I have photographed little H since he was a newborn.  So when his mom asked if I could photograph his party I set out to figure how this could work.  Events are difficult for a photographer (esp toddler birthday parties).  You get the lighting that you get.  You can’t ask the kids to stand here or move there.  You just have to be able to work with what you get.  I suggested (since I was already coming) that I come to their home a bit early and capture some family shots as well, because, those of you that have planned a big party REALLY want to take pictures right before the party…right? (that’s my sarcastic voice if you didn’t notice or don’t know me), but somehow it worked.  I always ask my clients what they are looking to get out of a session.  With events it’s a bit more difficult, but we managed to get pictures of the kids playing, the cake, parent hanging out and families together.  I think it will be a party well remembered.  And mom ordered a few accordian brag books for family members and she can view hers whenever she wants.

I am so glad you are all healthy and well.  I miss you all!

This family is just adorable.  I know I say this often, but it melts my heart when I see dads that are sooo involved.  What a beautiful family…I know this is late, but congratulations…J’s.

]]> http://littlemonkeyphotography.com/blog/?feed=rss2&p=773 4 What a wonderful gift…if I do say so myself :) {Snoqualmie, WA} http://littlemonkeyphotography.com/blog/?p=758 http://littlemonkeyphotography.com/blog/?p=758#comments Mon, 28 Jun 2010 05:52:56 +0000 leya http://littlemonkeyphotography.com/blog/?p=758 Some of my favorite clients gifted their friends a session.  I couldn’t think of a better gift than this.  I wish my coworkers would have chipped in when I was preggo w/ my first son and pre-purchased a session for me.  At the time my son was born, I didn’t know how important that moment would be and how it would change everything.  Not knowing if the recipients would appreciate their gift, I called to make sure they used the session.  They did and were thrilled.  Of course, I was thrilled when I got to their house and met Miss A and she was already the perfect lady.   Have I told you I LOVE attentive, daddies…I do.  I love to see it!!

Newborns are sooo funny.  They already have their definite likes, dislikes and personalities.  Miss A was very alert, pretty mellow and super strong.  At one point I caught her w/ her head up.  Her mom being beautiful didn’t hurt either :)

Of course one of my fav pics was the one with grandma, mom and new lil A.  I teared up when I saw the tears in the new grandmas eyes as well.  It’s really at these times that you realize how important these memories are and how much I love this job!!
